Beach Pictures – Cape Town

Sunday afternoon we decided to take a drive down to the beach. Living in Cape Town is such a blessing and everything is in driving distance and not too far. I thought, we are going to the beach, so why not take my camera with! I think it might be time for giving my camera a name too :) So I drove down to the beach, just in time to get awesome shots.

one of the new 7 wonders of Nature

Here is a picture I took of Table Mountain. It was recently added to one of the seven wonders of nature! When traveling abroad and coming home after a long trip, you wake up in the plain when the Pilot says “Welcome to the Mother City” and you look out the window and see the wonderful mountain welcoming you home. At that moment you know you are back home!

Sunset

Sunset and perfect weather. I took out my camera and aimed when I saw a couple walking their dogs, I waited a few moments and this was my end project.

Friends

I took these in the moment, my sister and her friend just walked in to go see what the water is like.

Cute Couple

I just love to walk around with my camera and wait for these spontaneous moments.

Woman in Sunset

This is one of my favorite pictures of the day. My sister standing directly into sun :)

Cape Town Sunset

This was my favorite picture of the day, a beautiful sunset on the beach.

Couple Shoot

So I bought a new camera and I have always loved photography! So I thought lets get into this right? I personally think I capture great moments better than posing pictures, however I decided to play around with all sorts!! My friend is also a amateur photographer like myself and we then set up a photo-shoot in the woods close to where we stay (we found it on google maps, didn’t even know it existed)

Capture the moment

This photo was taken at the right moment, he was the model for my friend and was taking a break. I glanced over at him and saw the amazing opportunity and then took the shot!

Capture the moment 2

This was also a moment picture, she was also my friend’s model and made her way up a slight hill, I was already at the top and when I looked down at her, I screamed stop right there, don’t move and took the shot!

Couple

These two actually were my models, we started off with a few pics and at the end of the day I ended up with 255! I took the nicest ones for me and edited it, it added up to 52.

Love Tree

Walking through the woods, taking pictures where I get ideas, we stumbled across a tree perfect for this shoot.

Biker Couple

The couple came to the shoot on their scooter and had their biker gear with them, I was laying there and my friend suggested earlier that day that I should get a few shot with them in dressed like bikers. I have to admit I liked the end result.

Loving Couple

I was lucky to get this couple as my first mock shoot. They were natural and relaxed and I enjoyed myself to the fullest. I have to admit that after two hours of climbing up and over trees and taking pictures, I was exhausted.

Couple by the lake

The shoot ended up being a success and I can get use to doing this :)

Poverty so close to home

I am involved in a youth group and although we party most of the time, we do some community work at times too. We heard about some people, not too far from where we stay, that is living in poverty. We decided to jump in and help, we gathered a few bags of groceries and made some “boerewors” rolls or hot dogs as the rest of the world calls it. The only difference is the sausage that we use, its meaty :)

Boerewors Rolls

When we arrived there, we couldn’t believe what we saw. It was shacks which in they lived. It was sad to see white people live that way! It was hard to take in and it broke your heart, the kindness these people greet you with is amazing and gratefulness the people show towards you.

Shacks they call home

The saddest part for me was, the fact that their were so many kids. There are eighteen shacks with seventy one people living there all together.
